Man Dies After Being Hit By Train Near Peterborough
A man has died after being hit by a train between Peterborough and Grantham.
Emergency services were called to the Lolham crossing in King Street in Helpston just before 11am.
A spokesperson from the British Transport Police, who were in attendance, said: "Colleagues from Cambridgeshire Constabulary and East of England Ambulance Service also attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The man's death is not being treated as suspicious, and officers are now working to identify him and inform his family.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
Rail services between Peterborough and Grantham have been suspended.
