Residents Evacuated In Spalding

Residents in Spalding have been evacuated after a suspicious object was discovered.

At about 5:30pm on Wednesday 23rd July police were called to a suspicious incident in South Parade, Spalding.

The address was an unoccupied property that may have been recently used as a squat.  As a result of their enquiries officers discovered what was believed to be an explosive device.

As a safety precaution nearby residents were evacuated.  The suspicious object was examined by military ordnance experts and eventually found to be safe.
