Searches For Missing Ely Landlady Finish
Detectives digging up an area in Ely, after the disappearance of a former landlady more than 17 years ago, have now finished their searches.
Excavations begun around the patio area outside the Royal Standard Pub this morning as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Deborah Steel.
The 37 year old was last seen on December 28, 1997. Her body has never been found.
The search was being undertaken with the full consent of the present landlord, who isn't connected with the investigation.
Police say they're now looking into further lines of enquiry and continue to search for the truth about what happened to Deborah.
A 73-year-old man is currently on bail until April 29. Two men, aged 70 and 50, were previously on police bail but have since had it cancelled.
Anyone with any information should call 01480 425880 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
