Suspicious Package Found At RAF Mildenhall
All areas of RAF Mildenhall have reopened after an investigation into a suspicious package.
It was found at the post office at 7.45am and officials at the base activated special control measures.
All personnel and families were asked to avoid the area near the Exchange, post office, bowling alley and Heritage Park.
At around 11am base personnel determined the package was was non-hazardous.
After a joint effort from the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department, the 100th Security Forces Squadron, the Ministry of Defence police, the 48th Medical Group and the RAF Lakenheath Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, the scene was deemed safe.
There were no injuries.
The areas that were affected by this incident have re-opened and are operating according to their normal business hours.
