Third Man Arrested Over Stabbing In Cambridge

A third man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Cambridge.

The 23-year-old from Luton was arrested in Luton on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday (June 17).

He has been taken to Parkside Police Station where he remains in custody.

Detectives received reports of a man having been stabbed in East Road, at about 1.15am on Tuesday (June 16).

The victim, a man believed to be from Cambridge, had a number of stab wounds and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a stable condition.

A 26-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been released with no further action taken.

Ali Mohammed Tobeiji, 61, of Selbourne Road, Luton, has been charged with attempted murder, remanded and is due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates' Court today (June 18).
