Thousands Read Huntingdon's Woman's Mental Health Story
An open letter written by a woman from Huntingdon who suffers from mental health problems has now been viewed by more than 23,000 people.
26 year old Laura Humphreys wrote the note, entitled 'To Those I Love', nearly three months ago to show her family just how hard her daily battle with mental health issues can be.
She had been driving to her mum's house to see her for the day when an anxiety attack came on.
She told Heart: "I got three quarters of the way there and I just had this huge wave of almost like a hot flush. My stomach started churning, my heart started racing and my throat just started closing up.
"I just thought no - it's just too much to cope with and the only thing I felt I could do was to turn back and go home."
Laura suffers a range of mental health problems from mental breakdowns, mild depression with suicidal thoughts, anxiety and panic attacks.
She also occasionally self-harms.
She said: "It's just in those moments where I'm having a panic attack and I'm just completely overwhelmed
"It's both a distraction and a release. It's a case of I would rather feel the physical pain than go through all that emotional distress."
Laura openly talks about her struggles, discussing them on her blog, to try to reach out to other sufferers.
Around 500 people a week are still reading and sharing the open letter, something Laura says "lifts" her.
"If my writing can help just one person then I've achieved what I set out to do", Laura added.
"This has just gone so much bigger than I thought. It's been really positive and it's given me quite a lift as well.
"There's a lot of comments where people have said it's made them cry and a lot of people are saying this is how I feel but I've never been able to put it into words - thank you."
