His white Vauxhall van collided with a black BMW 520 on the B1043 Offord Road, near to Corpus Christi Farm, at around 8.50pm.
The two vehicles had also crashed with each other just before, on the B1043 at Great Paxton near the Bell Pub. They then headed towards Huntington along the road where the second collision then took place.
The man suffered fatal injuries. He has not yet been named by police.
The driver of the BMW, a 45-year-old man, was not injured.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw either crash or the vehicles just before or between, to contact PC Jason Porter, at the collision investigation unit, on 101.
