A woman who caused a collision which killed a couple from Peterborough, has been jailed for a year.
Debra Weston, 41 from Nottingham, was driving a Land Rover Discovery on the A47 at Sutton on August 25, 2013, when she lost control and collided with a Ford Focus.
The Focus was being driven by Stephen Durber, 30, of Princes Road, Fletton, who died in the collision along with his wife Samantha Durber, 27, who was in the front passenger seat.
Their three-year-old son was left in a critical condition but has since recovered.
Weston pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by careless driving at a previous hearing and was jailed at Peterborough Crown Court. She was also disqualified from driving for three years.
PC Jay Porter, who investigated, said:
"Weston steered an incorrect course, most likely following a momentary lapse of attention, and her subsequent attempts to correct this error resulted in a total loss of vehicle control.
This case demonstrates how crucial it is that motorists devote their full attention to driving it all times".
