Thanks to your support, Kev & Ros have handed over a giant cheque for £4,660 to Anna’s Hope - the children's brain tumour charity based in Cambridgeshire.
Anna's Hope is a charity that provides support to children and young people diagnosed with a brain tumour from its team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
They will now be spending the money on new equipment including:
The money was raised through Global’s Make Some Noise – a national charity that helps disadvantaged children and young people across Cambridgeshire and the rest of the UK.
One of the highlights of last autumn’s appeal was the first ever Oxford vs Cambridge pub quiz – where teams were assembled in venues in each of the varsity cities, linked by giant screens.
The grant will be spent on equipment and support to enhance the work of The Anna’s Hope Therapy Team that supports Brainbow, a pioneering neuro-oncology rehabilitation service based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
The equipment includes specialist chairs to help patients’ mobility, weighted blankets for sensory work and assessment tools to analyse and help improve eating and movement. The grant will also fund family and patient support group meetings and events.
The leading children’s brain tumour charity in the East of England, Anna’s Hope is dedicated to giving hope to children and young people diagnosed with a brain tumour.
It was inspired by Anna Olivia Hughes, who tragically died from a brain tumour aged only 3 years and 8 months, and was set up by Anna’s parents Rob and Carole Hughes and her five Godparents in October 2006.
The aim of the trust is to raise money to fund research into the cure of children with brain tumours and improve the rehabilitation facilities and support available to those children who are hopefully cured.
