Together For Short Lives

Have a Heart aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children living in our local communities. For the past year we've been supporting the amazing work of Children's Hospices UK, who have recently gone through a big change!

Children's Hospices UK have recently merged with another organisation called ACT, and their new name is Together For Short Lives.

This has established the UK's only charity representing every child and young person not expected to live to reach adulthood, and their families.  Their vision is that all children and young people not expected to live to reach adulthood have the best possible care in the place of their choice.  Children's Hospices UK & ACT were separately two of the largest children's palliative care charities in the UK before the merger.  The new combined charity brings together all those involved in caring for seriously ill children, from the children, young people & families themselves to the professionals and organisations who provide the full range of care & support.

Have a Heart has been raising funds to help 28 children's hospices further the care they deliver to seriously ill children in their own home.

Our aim was to raise enough money to provide each children’s hospice with a car and additional nursing hours to deliver care and support when and where it is needed most.  With the support of Heart listeners we're helping ordinary families in extraordinary circumstances to cope with the challenges of everyday life.  Families like Vicki's;

Our partnership year with Together For Short Lives (Children's Hospices UK) is now over, and we'll be putting details of how the money you've helped us raise will help on heart.co.uk very soon.  Our fundraising for Together For Short Lives (Children's Hospices UK) continues for a short while longer, thanks to our group of amazing trekkers taking on Team Heart's Himalayan Challenge!
