Residents in Colchester are concerned plans to build more than 2000 homes will lead to major traffic problems.

Public meetings have been held over developments to the Myland area, with work due to start on them next year.

Parish councillor Martin Goss told Heart people are worried about the environmental effect as some of the houses will be built on green spaces that have been used by locals for generations, there's also the potential of losing Mile End Playing Fields.

There are also concerns about lack of community facilities, transport and schools.

1,500 homes have already been approved for Severalls and the additional 2,200 will be built between Mile End Road and Bergholt Road.
