Work to build a one-of-a-kind centre which cares for wounded servicemen and women in Colchester is still on course to open in spring next year.

The Personal Recovery Centre recently got a 4-thousand boost from local fundraisers through Help for Heroes.

The centre at Colchester Garrison will give wounded, injured and sick soldiers additional care and support to help them successfully return to duties and civilian life.

It will be the first purpose-built facility of its kind and will provide residential accommodation for up to 29 soldiers and 31 day guests.
