Free Dental Treatment for Struggling Families

Dentistry school offers free treatments in Cornwall as we learn people can’t afford to go.

Getting an NHS dentist place is now no longer the barrier to stopping you getting treatment. Many people are worried about the cost and 25 percent say that you can't even afford to go for check ups.

Some of you are even putting the cost of looking after your teeth on credit cards and are worried about how to afford it in the future.

But Heart has learnt that the Peninsula Dental School in Devon and Cornwall is urgently looking for patients, especially children. The treatment is free and given by students but it’s supervised by a fully qualified dentist.

Professor Gill Jones from the Peninsula Dental School said “This is a great way for local people to contribute to the training of the dentists of tomorrow, and receive free treatments too”

The school has 4 bases – Derriford, Devonport, Exeter and Truro. You can make an appointment by calling 01872 258100 in Truro, 01392 405350 in Exeter and at Derriford on 0845 155 8109.
