Shopkeepers On Alert

Do you recognise this man?

Police have issued an image from a supermaket's CCTV of a man they would like to speak to in connection with two “ringing the changes” offences in Hayle.
The first incident took place at McColls Newsagents on Penpol Terrace.  He struck again at the Spar shop on Chapel Terrace.
On both occasions a man tricked cashiers into giving more change than was required.

The suspect is described as being aged between 60 and 70 years, between 5ft 5in and 5ft 9in tall, of stocky build and with wispy grey/white hair. He was wearing a checked, short-sleeved shirt, black trousers and glasses.
He was possibly travelling in a dark grey Vauxhall Astra/Vectra-type car.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police on 101, quoting reference AY/13/752.
