Those performing will be:
- Mad Badger, a full on rock covers band to open the night.
- Dirty Weekend, a mixture of originals and covers with a Brighton theme.
- Uncle Arthur, energetic and eclectic originals with a fantastic live show.
- The Lanes finish the night with a powerhouse display of stunning raw energy.
As well as promising to be a great night, the event is raising money for the Brighton Whoopsadaisy children’s charity that supports children with cerebral palsy or other motor disorders. The event is being organised by Brighton Sounds (part of Sea City Music) who saw that outstanding local bands weren’t getting the what they deserved in terms of the venues offered or being rewarded for their efforts and they wanted to redress the balance and give the power back to the artists and their fans.
Wama (Guitarist in Dirty Weekend) said “We are very honoured to be asked to play The Old Market. It’s been an amazing journey doing the ‘Dirty Weekend in Brighton thing’ and the feedback we get never ceases to amaze me”
This will be the first of many regular nights which will continue to put local talent in front of big crowds so if you want to get involved and play at one of these events, get in touch with the promoters at brightonsounds.com
