Event details: We are going to push our son David from out home to the Royal Marsden in Sutton ( the route he has had to endure regularly whilst he was on treatment). We shall be walking from our home into Crawley Town centre and onto The Royal Marsden on foot.
The journey will be broken down into ½ or 1 mile sections dependant on the number of volunteer pushers. The total distance is 21.9 miles. We need volunteers to push maximum of a mile per person (dependant on number of volunteers). SO COME AND HAVE FUN AND SUPPORT US WE NEED YOUR HELP. Artists Open Houses Festival

Event details: The 2014 Artists Open Houses festival will take place in Brighton, Hove and beyond over the four weekends of May. The largest event of its kind in the UK, around 200 houses and studio spaces across the city will be opening their doors to exhibit the work of over 1,000 artists and makers.
The houses are grouped into one of 14 trails around different areas of the city, each with its’ own unique character and atmosphere - from the fisherman’s houses of Hanover to the urban warehouse spaces of the North Laine and the cottages of the South Downs village of Ditchling.
The Artists Open Houses offer the chance to buy artworks directly from the artists and makers themselves. There is hugely diverse selection of art works on show; from original paintings, prints, graffiti arts, ceramics, textiles to photography, sculpture, crafts and jewellery and many other media. Entry to the Artists Open Houses is free.
Some of the most exciting work from The Artists Open Houses festival will be featured in The Open Houses Open Exhibition 2014, a curated open submissions exhibition showcasing some of the most exciting work from artists taking part in the festival. The theme for this years exhibition is “Transitions.” Open Exhibition will be shown in the Regency Town House upstairs Drawing Room over the weekends of May. The exhibition will be curated by Jenny Lund, Curator of Fine Art Brighton Museum and Katie Norris, Assistant Curator Pallant House Gallery, Chichester.

It is also an event for awareness and fundraising for the Sussex MS Treatment Center, which is based in Southwick but covers all of both East and West Sussex... 'George' from ASDA will be providing clothing and accessories.The fabulous Gay Richardson - from Style Me Confident - will be using the George clothing to show you how everyday outfits can be worn, based on body type, age, etc. Helen Hitchcock, founder of the cultural Indian Charity The Gallery, from Cobblestone in Steyning, will be showcasing a selection of her Indian clothing and jewellery, both traditional and everyday wear. Wendy - from Sew What Darling - will be showing her handmade, retro-style clothing, which can be bought or hired for any occasion. Based in Southwick, Wendy runs a small, friendly sewing school where you can learn to make girly, frilly things. Get Waisted's Toni Pickles will also be in attendance. Toni is the owner/fashion designer of a bespoke boutique based in Steyning. The designs are inspired by the style of the 40s and 50s, but modern designs to customer specifications can also be created.
Local beauticians, hairdressers, printing companies, photographers etc are also involved. So this is really turning into an event which is really bringing together the local communities. I am hoping that this event will appeal to all ages and will be a fun evening.

Young Epilepsy's Purple Walk

Event details: We are delighted to be holding our first ever sponsored walk at the stunning Loseley Park in Guildford, Surrey to launch National Epilepsy Awareness Week 2014. The 8.7km route will take you through the beautiful grounds of Loseley House, built in the reign of Elizabeth I. The course winds up onto the North Downs, where you will be able to take in some of the most spectacular views the Surrey Hills have to offer before exploring ancient woodlands and farmed landscapes en-route back to the house.
How to take part: Registration is £5 and you will receive your own fundraising pack to help you raise those much needed funds for children and young people with epilepsy, as well as a Young Epilepsy t-shirt to wear with pride on the day.
