11 Cars Robbed In Single Night In Dorset

Thieves have targeted a number of cars in a single night, in two Dorset villages.

Eleven vehicles were targeted some time overnight between Tuesday 28 May and Wednesday 29 May 2013 in the areas of Higher Filbank, Battlemead, Collets Close and East Street in Corfe Castle and South Street in Kingston.

All the cars had been left insecure and searched by offenders. A chainsaw, a small quantity of cash and some clothing was stolen.

Purbeck Neighbourhood Inspector Fiona Gaffney, said:

"I am appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Dorset Police.

"I would also like to send a strong message to owners to remember to lock their cars and remove possessions when left unattended.

"Such crimes have been on the increase in this area however in most cases the vehicles have been left insecure."
