18 Year Old Attacked In Blandford

Police in Blandford are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a man was assaulted in the town.

Between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on Thursday, 8 March 2012, an 18-year-old Blandford man was assaulted on the blue bridge linking Morrisons car park with Stour Meadows.
 
The man was attacked from behind as he was walking over the bridge. The victim ran to the nearby skate park after the attack where he met his friend.
 
The victim suffered minor injuries to his knees, arms, face and head and was taken to Dorset County Hospital.
 
Police Constable Richard Cooke, of Blandford police, said: 

"This was a cowardly and unprovoked attack.
 
"It is not clear if the victim was assaulted by one person, or by a small group of people.
 
"I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or from anyone who has any information about those responsible."
