28 Tonne Military Vehicle Destroys Garage

A 28 tonne military vehicle has completely destroyed someone's garage, after it rolled off a transporter at the Southwell Business Park on Portland.

The proto-type Ranger, owned by a company in Weymouth, was being off-loaded from a truck at around 18.14 (Tues 11^th Jan). It’s thought it then "malfunctioned", and rolled backwards, along Reap Lane.

A Dorset police spokesperson said: “It came to rest in the garden of a property, demolishing a garage and a significant amount of property. Thankfully no-one was injured.”

Dorchester traffic police are investigating and the incident’s also been referred to the health and safety executive.
