Appeal After Christchurch Attack

Police in Christchurch are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after an assault in the town.

The incident, in which a man sustained nasty facial injuries, happened outside Club Epic, along Bargates, at around 4am on Saturday, 20 August 2011.

The victim, a 28-year-old Southampton man, was treated at Royal Bournemouth Hospital for a broken nose and cuts and bruising to his face.

Police Constable Chris Maidment, of Christchurch police, said: “This was a shocking attack that left a young man unconscious and in need of overnight hospital treatment.

“At this time, it is not clear exactly what happened outside of the nightclub, which is why it is essential that anyone who witnessed any untoward activity at this location during the early hours of Saturday should contact me urgently.

“I am also appealing for anyone who has any information about those responsible for this attack to get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
