Appeal After Dorset Barn Fire

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a fire in the Burton area of Christchurch.

At 8.54pm on Monday, 9 May 2011, Dorset Police received a report of a fire at Hawthorn Road in Burton, Christchurch.

The incident, in which several hay bales and cattle feed were set alight at farm fields, happened between 6pm and 9pm.

Police Constable Ian Johnson, from Christchurch Police, said: "The hay bales and cattle feed were completely
destroyed.

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incredibly dangerous incident, and anyone who recalls any suspicious or unusual behaviour along Hawthorn Road at that time, to contact police as soon as possible."

Nobody has been arrested.
