Appeal After Woman Attacked In Bournemouth

Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was allegedly assaulted in the town – with three men being arrested.

The incident, in which a 25-year-old woman sustained cuts, bruises and a broken arm, happened along Portchester Place just before 9pm on Sunday, 10 April 2011.

The victim, from Bournemouth, was treated at Poole Hospital.

Detective Constable Paul Chessell, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “I understand that an earlier altercation took place between several men along nearby Holdenhurst Road.

“The victim sustained her injuries after she attempted to assist a man involved in this confrontation.”

Three Bournemouth men, aged 25, 27 and 28, were arrested and have been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

DC Chessell continued: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, and anyone who saw any suspicious activity in this area at around 9pm on Sunday evening, to contact me as soon as possible.

“The injured woman has suffered from a nasty break to her arm and it’s important that I establish exactly what happened.”
