Detectives in Bournemouth are investigating an armed robbery at a bookmakers in the town centre.
A man went into Ladbrokes along Commercial Road, threatened a cashier and demanded money at around 8.20pm on Tuesday 31st January 2012.
He escaped with money, but police won't reveal how much.
The robber made off along nearby Mannington Place and up into West Hill Car Park.
Detective Constable Steve May, of Bournemouth CID, said:
“I understand that the offender pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at the female member of staff.
“Clearly, this was a highly distressing incident and I’d appeal for anyone who has any information about the man responsible to contact me as soon as possible.
“The area was reasonably busy at the time of this robbery and it may be that a number of people saw this man arriving or departing the scene.”
The robber is white, around five feet six inches tall, with dark greasy hair.
He was wearing a navy Henry Lloyd top, with the digits 63 on the front, and blue tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe down the side. He had a patterned scarf over his face.
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101.
