Biker Dies After A31 Crash

A motorcyclist has died in hospital after a crash on the A31 at Ferndown.

It happened at around 7.15am yesterday morning (Tuesday 20th March) at the junction with Uddens Drive when a silver Honda motorbike collided with a silver Peugeot 206.

The biker, a 54-year-old man from Bere Regis, was resuscitated by police officers at the scene. He was taken to Poole hospital where he later died.

The 22-year-old car driver from Wimborne suffered shock.

Police thanked motorists for their patience while the emergency services dealt with the crash.

The A31 was closed for more than four hours while a full investigation was carried out. It reopened just before midday yesterday.

Police are asking witnesses to contact them on 101.
