An unexploded bomb was found on heath land near Studland beach on Monday afternoon.

The Second World War bomb weighing 500lbs was discovered between Ferry Road and Little Sea lagoon. Bomb disposal experts examined the device at the time and found it wasn't an immediate danger to the public.

At 2pm on Tuesday they closed Ferry Road and suspended the Sandbanks ferry for an hour so they could carry out a controlled explosion.
