A Spokesperson said:

"You’ll be pleased to know that after listening to a lot of feedback from last year’s Camp Bestival-goers, we’ve decided to open up the campsites on Thursday to allow everyone the chance to set up camp a day early and have a truly excellent 4-day festi-holiday at Camp Bestival.

"You’ll need to purchase a Thursday Camping Ticket -  which go on sale at 10:00am on Monday (February 21st) - in addition to your normal Weekend Camping Ticket to gain access to the Campsites on Thursday.

"All the campsites will be open from 12:00 midday on Thursday 28th July and Car Parks will be open from 10:00am.

"There will be a variety of food stalls and a bar open in the campsites on Thursday, however, the main entertainment programme at the festival will start at 12:00 midday on Friday. And that’s just one of the many improvements we’ve made from the feedback you gave us in our exit survey. With a whopping 74% of Camp Besti folk saying they see our Dorset spectacular as a holiday, we’ve strived hard to make sure Camp Bestival has all the best bits of a family campsite holiday but with a stellar line-up, world class kids’ entertainment and round the clock fun and games!"

They added: "This year the fancy dress theme is all things Medieval, which means we should have an army of brave knights to save the myriad beautiful princesses that are sure to be at Lulworth Castle. There’ll be the traditional Fancy Dress Parade for everybody on Saturday in the Kids’ Garden, the Camp Bestival resident dressing up box will be stacked full of vintage princess dresses, hand-made
costumes for all sizes, and next to the dressing up tent is the Camp Bestival catwalk where the little ones can parade and dance up and down to music all day Also in the Kids’ Garden you will find our huge face painting tent with a team of professional face painters to add the final touches to your costume or to transform you into the creature of your dreams!"
