At least nine houses and eight cars were damaged sometime between 1am and 3am on Sunday 28th October in Mampitts Lane and the road leading onto Fair Lane.
Police Constable Dave Pearce, of Shaftesbury police, said:
“This is a case of mindless criminal damage and has caused untold upset to the victims.
“I am very keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious or has information as soon as possible.
“I urge witnesses to come forward and contact Dorset Police in the strictest confidence on 101.
“I would like to reassure residents of Shaftesbury that this is an extremely unusual occurrence for this area.”
