Bournemouth Man In Court Charged With Bookies Raids

A Bournemouth man has appeared in court, charged with robberies at bookmakers in Hampshire and Dorset.

Two were in Bournemouth and the other in Portchester in Hampshire.

34-year-old David Hinde, from Walpole Road, is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon and threatening people with a blade.

He appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court today (Monday 12 May). He has been remanded in custody until appearing at Bournemouth Crown Court on Monday 19 May.

At 12.03pm on Thursday 8 May, a man dressed in dark clothing entered the Coral Bookmakers on Castle Lane West and threatened a female member of staff with a large knife and demanded money.
 
The offender obtained a quantity of cash from the member of staff and left in a westerly direction.
 
Two members of the public were inside the store at the time the incident occurred but nobody was injured.

It followed another armed robbery, at Ladbrokes in Christchurch Road, Boscombe on Wednesday 7 May, when a man armed with a hammer escaped with cash.

A third robbery took place at Ladbrokes on Leith Avenue in Portchester on Friday 9 May.
