Charminster Death: Man Appears In Court

A man has appeared in court charged with manslaughter, after a man was attacked in Charminster and died in hospital.

20-year-old Lewis Anthony Gill was arrested in Croydon on Friday night (8 November) after Andrew Young from Bournemouth was left with a serious head injury, and later died.

The 40-year-old was assaulted at around 3.25pm on Wednesday 6 November 2013 outside the Tesco Metro store on Charminster Road. He died at Southampton General hospital.

The victim's next of kin and the Coroner have been informed. 

Mr Gill appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 11 November) and was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Winchester Crown Court on 19 November.
