Officers in Christchurch are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a burglary in the town.

The burglary happened some time between Sunday 23 February 2014 and Monday 3 March 2014 in the area of Hillside Drive.

The offenders forced their entry into the rear of the property and stole a number of items while the occupants were out. The items stolen include a large quantity of jewellery and watches, various silver items and a quantity of cash. Police Constable Jim Perks, of Christchurch police, said:

"It was distressing for the victims to return home to find their house had been burgled.

"I would urge anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area to come forward as soon as possible.

"I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered such items or similar for sale in strange circumstances or for an unusually low price.

'Anyone with information that can assist the investigation is asked to contact the police in confidence."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 3:187. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
