Do You Recognise This Jewellery?

Police in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a burglary in Sutton Poyntz..

The incident, in which offenders forced entry to a cottage through a window and stole a safe containing personal belonging’s – including some unique items of jewellery – happened on Mission Hall Lane near the Spring Head public house between 5.30pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, 22 September 2010.

Detective Sergeant Paul Auger, of Weymouth CID, said:

“Some of the stolen jewellery items are unique – they are from different countries and have been collected during the victim’s travel.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed this incident, and anyone who saw or heard anything unusual or suspicious in the area, to contact me urgently.

“I also appeal to any taxi driver who picked up a person from this area carrying a heavy looking bag.

“All calls are treated in the strictest of confidence."
