Dog Attacks Woman In Bournemouth Park
Police in Bournemouth are trying to track down the owners of a dog which bit an elderly woman in a park.
The 79-year-old from Bournemouth was walking her dog in Meyrick Park between 3pm and just after 4pm on
Sunday 27 November 2011 when she was bitten by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier type dog.
She was taken to hospital for treatment to a hand injury.
Police Constable Matt Buller from Bournemouth police said:
“I understand that a Staffordshire type dog, accompanied by two boys, was running toward the victim who then picked up her own dog."
“The two boys refused to provide their details.”
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this attack, and anyone who has any information about the dog’s owner, to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101.
Officers say many of those were after people didn't secure their car properly.
James Hemming pleaded guilty to wounding with intent after a 17-year-old girl was badly injured in Fratton.
Dorset and Hampshire officers will be carrying out extra patrols until New Year's Day.
