Dorset Charity Shop Burgled

Police in Shaftesbury are investigating a burglary at a charity shop in the town.

Thieves broke into the Oxfam Store along Shaftesbury High Street and stole cash sometime between 5pm on Saturday, 6 August and 8am on Monday, 8 August 2011.

The quantity of stolen money is not being released.

Police Constable Mike Henstridge, of Shaftesbury police, said:

“The offenders accessed the charity store by forcing a rear entrance and I believe that those responsible may have scaled an eight feet high wall beforehand.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, and anyone who saw any suspicious activity in this area, to contact me urgently.

“Anyone who has any information about those responsible should contact Dorset Police at the earliest opportunity.”
