Dorset Man Killed When Car Hits Tree
A man's died after his car went into a tree in Sturminster Marshall near Wimborne.
The 83-year-old was killed at the junction of Church Street and Back Lane on Sunday (8 May).
At 3.05pm, Dorset Police were called to a single vehicle road traffic collision. A green and grey Isuzu Trooper Citation estate car left the road and collided with a tree.
The road was closed while emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended the incident.
The driver of the car - an 83-year-old local man - died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and the coroner notified.
Police Constable Sean Todd, of Dorset Police's Traffic Unit, said: "I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the manner of the driving of the vehicle prior to the incident, to please call me on 101."
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 8:265. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
Police say 41 criminals, sending Class A drugs into the city, have been jailed in the last year and a half.
It'll have Q&A sessions in all 19 of its blocks - and a programme to install sprinklers starts soon.
David Richard Gray is accused of killing Carl Scott at his home off Thurmond Road.
