Driver Rescued From River

A man has been rescued after apparently driving his car into the River Frome at Wareham.

The vehicle was completely submerged when the driver was rescued by two men. One had a yacht moored nearby and they smashed the car window with an oar to pull the man into a dinghy.

The driver was taken to Poole Hospital where he was kept in overnight for observation, but was later released.

A crane was attempting to lift the car from the river on Wednesday.
