Detectives investigating a burglary in Verwood when a woman was tied up in her own home have released an e-fit of one of the men responsible.

It was around 3.30pm on Thursday, 4 February 2010, when two men pushed their way into a house in the Black Hill area of Verwood. They threatened and tied the wrists of the lady occupant before making off with jewellery and other items.

Detective Constable Jane Matthews, of Ferndown CID, said:  “I’m now releasing an e-fit image of one of the men responsible and I urge anyone recognising this man to call the police in total confidence.

“I also need to hear from anyone else who has any other information about the burglary or about the identity of those responsible for subjecting the victim to such a frightening ordeal.

“I’d also like to hear from anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously in the Black Hill area of Verwood on Thursday afternoon and from anyone who saw an unusual vehicle parked up in that area as it’s likely that the two men had a vehicle nearby.

“I don’t believe that this was a random attack and I believe that other residents are in no danger from these two men.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 01202 or 01305 22 22 22 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
