Family Pay Tribute to Son

The parents of 19 year old Aaron Humphries, whose body was found in woodland near to Mendip Gardens in Dibden Purlieu last Friday (March 5th) have been comforted by the astonishing number of tributes posted in memory of their son on Facebook and other social network sites.

More than 500 messages had been posted within two days, leaving Paul and Sue Humphries completely ‘overwhelmed’ by the sheer volume.

Supported by Aaron’s two elder brothers Dan and Karl, the couple spoke fondly of their son who they described as someone with a bubbly, infectious personality who was always happy and smiling.

Sue said: “Aaron was phenomenally special in so many ways and his untimely and premature death has left us all with a huge hole in our lives. But at the same time, it has brought us much closer together as a family and reminded us that we so often take things for granted in life.    It has taught us never to become complacent and to always find time for each other and to tell each other how much we love them.”

Dad Paul added: “This has highlighted how important life is and to make sure that every moment in life is a special occasion to enjoy and share with our loved ones.  Receiving the news of Aaron’s death was a shock to us all but our thoughts go out the young boy and the woman who discovered his body.  It could not have been easy for them and our hearts and thoughts are with them. I should also like to thank everyone who has so kindly sent flowers and messages of sympathy and the kind-hearted messages placed onto the social network sites. People have been so kind.”

More than 100 family members and friends paid tribute and celebrated Aaron’s life at an impromptu gathering held at the Heathlands Hotel on Sunday evening.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalised.
