Family Stranded on Nudist Beach!

Poole RNLI rescued a family from a naturist beach at Studland after they got stuck there when their boat started sinking.

At around midday on Sunday October 2nd, Portland coastguard requested that crews went to Studland Bay where a small 21ft cabin cruiser with a family (including 2 young children) were reportedly sinking fast.

On arrival, the inshore lifeboat found that the family had headed for the nearest bit of land and beached themselves.

A spokesperson said:

Unfortunately for them the nearest bit of land though was in the middle of the naturist beach at Studland.

All the family were thoroughly checked out by the volunteer crew, apart from being shaken they were okay. but the children had the additional trauma of the surroundings so they were taken onboard the inshore lifeboat and distracted from the scene.

They managed to tow the boat back safely to shore where a 6-inch hole was discovered in the centre of its hull. No-one was hurt.
