Hunt For Chewing Gum Thief!

Police in Bournemouth are looking for a thief with a sweet tooth who struck in Wilkinson’s in the Winton area of the town.

At around 10.20am on Friday 13 April 2012, a man entered the store and stole a quantity of chewing gum valued at £60
from shelves, and left the premises with the items in a shopping basket.

The same man then attempted to do the same during the afternoon of Monday 23 April 2012 but was stopped by security.

The offender is described as a white man, around five feet ten inches tall, of slim build and wearing dark clothing.

Police Constable Lee Harrison, of Bournemouth Police, said:

"This man enters and leaves the store very quickly and only targets chewing gum.

"He uses a store shopping basket to carry the goods away. He then leaves the area on a pushbike.

“I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the theft, or seen anyone acting suspiciously in
the area around the time of the incident”.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101.
