Daniel Vincent Smedley, 30, pleaded guilty to the charges at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday 2 November 2012 and was sentenced to five and half years’ imprisonment on the same day.
The court heard that the prohibited items were discovered in a room at a hotel along St Michaels Road, Bournemouth on Saturday 20 October 2012 and Smedley was arrested as a result of the police investigation.
Detective Constable James Lees said:
“This is a great example of diligent policing and working together with the community. As a result a dangerous offender was brought swiftly to justice.
“I hope this sentence serves as a reminder that we will not tolerate such criminal behaviour.
“I would like to thank the community for their support. As always, members of the public can assist us by reporting any information concerning criminal activity to the police, in the strictest of confidence, on 101.”
