Man Arrested After Bournemouth Sex Attack
A man's been arrested after a woman was sexually assaulted in Bournemouth town centre.
It happened in the early hours of the morning on Sunday 11 May 2014 near the town centre.
The victim, a 26-year-old woman, spent the night at the Lola Lo club on Richmond Hill until approximately 2.30am.
After leaving the club the victim found herself in a residential area of the town having been subjected to a serious sexual assault.
Detective Sergeant Andy Roberts, of Bournemouth CID, said: “The victim found herself in a very distressing situation and sustained cuts and bruises.
“I am now in a position to release CCTV footage of a man I would like to speak to who kindly helped the victim in the area outside of Lola Lo at about 2.10am. He might have vital information about the incident that can assist with the investigation.”
He is described as white, of stocky build and has dark hair. He was wearing a suit style jacket, a shirt without a collar and possibly jeans and dark shoes. He was holding something in his hand which may have been takeaway food.
Detective Sergeant Andy Roberts, of Bournemouth CID, continued: “I am appealing for anyone who may be able to give me information about the victim’s movements between 2.30am and 5.30am.
"I would particularly like to speak with anyone who may have seen the victim in the area around Richmond Hill, Wimborne road and Meyrick Park.”
She has shoulder length dark hair and was wearing a pink, waste length blazer with a black collar, a black dress and black high heeled shoes.
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 11:224. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
