Man Arrested After Woman Falls On To Train Tracks

A 25 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was found on train tracks in Bournemouth.

The 20 year old was spotted on the line at Pokesdown station in Boscombe just before 10am on Sunday 2nd September. 

She is currently being treated for serious injuries at Southampton General hospital - police say she suffered arm, leg and pelvic injuries.

Initial traffic reports said: 'Station closed on South West Trains at Pokesdown due to person hit by a train' and Dorset police said they were told someone had fallen on to the tracks. 

A 25-year-old Hampshire man has now been bailed. Police taped off a section of footpath near to the station.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward by calling 101 and quoting incident number 2:194 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
