Man Attacked And Thrown In A Stream

Detectives in Bournemouth are investigating an attack on a man in the town centre.

It happened at around 11.50pm on Monday 29 October 2012 under the flyover on Branksome Wood Road, near Bournemouth Gardens.

The victim, a 39-year-old man from Bournemouth, was approached by three men who punched him in the face and stomach, and then pushed him in a nearby stream.

He only suffered minor cuts and bruising, but spent several days in hospital.

Detective Constable Alan Marks, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said:

“This was a nasty attack on a man in one of Bournemouth’s busiest areas.

“So far, we have been unable to identify the offenders, but we believe there would have been some people in the area at the time of the assault, and I am very keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it take place, seen anything suspicious leading up to it, or have details regarding the suspects.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact Dorset Police in confidence on the non-emergency number 101.”

The three attackers are all described as aged in their twenties and wearing hooded tops.
