Detectives in Blandford are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man allegedly assaulted a police officer in the town – with one man being charged.
The incident, in which a male police officer sustained a bruised leg, happened outside Blandford Post Office along The Close at around 2.30pm on Tuesday 28 February 2012.
36-year-old Paul Tulley, of no fixed abode, has been charged with assaulting a constable. He will next appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 21 March 2012.
Detective Constable Paula Hollick, of county CID, said:
“I understand that several members of the public were in the area as this incident took place.
“I would urge these people to contact the police so that I can find out exactly what happened.”
