Man Charged After Christchurch Taxi Driver Threatened With Gun

A man's been charged after a taxi driver was threatened with a gun by a passenger in Christchurch.

It happened during a row in Dorset Road on Thursday evening.

A 49-year-old man's due in court next month to face two charges, including possessing an unloaded air weapon.

At 6.37pm on Thursday 21 July 2016 Dorset Police received a report of an altercation along Dorset Road in Christchurch.

It is alleged that a male taxi driver was threatened with a firearm by a male customer.

49-year-old John David O'Brien of Christchurch has been charged with possession of an unloaded air weapon in a public place and use of threatening behaviour with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence and is due to appear at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 9 August.
