Man Charged Over Weymouth Armed Robbery

A man’s been charged after an armed robbery at a post office in Weymouth.

It happened at the Abbotsbury Road post office on the 2nd of March 2011. Cash was taken at gunpoint and a woman was kidnapped when her car was used as a getaway vehicle.

25 year old Colin Paul Douglas from Weymouth remains in prison custody and is due before Bournemouth Magistrates Court on the 21st April 2011.

Today (Wednesday 13th April, 2011) he’s been charged with robbery, false imprisonment, committing a dwelling burglary, and commercial burglary, theft, taking and driving away a motor vehicle and possessing a firearm.

These charges are in addition to charges made against him on March 5th, 2011.
