Man Denies Killing His Student Girlfriend

A 20-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his girlfriend, who was an aspiring teenage model.

Elliott Turner denied the charge of killing 17-year-old Emily Longley on May 7 during a hearing at Winchester Crown Court.

Turner, of Queenswood Avenue, Queens Park, Bournemouth, also pleaded not guilty to a charge of perverting the course of justice between May 6 and July 21.

His parents Leigh, 53, and wife Anita, 50, of the same address, also pleaded not guilty to the same charge of intending to pervert the course of justice.

Miss Longley, who went to Brokenhurst College, was living with relatives in Bournemouth when she was found dead at an address in Queenswood Avenue on May 7.

She had worked at Topshop, had been living in the UK for around eight months after leaving her family in Auckland, New Zealand.

A trial, expected to last four weeks, is to be held early next year and Elliot Turner was remanded in custody until a further hearing later this year and his parents were released on conditional bail.
