Man Glassed In Swanage Bar

Three men have been arrested after a man was glassed in the face in a bar in Swanage, and a second man was hurt by flying glass.

The 21-year-old man from Surrey was attacked in the downstairs area of The East Bar in High Street at around 11.50pm on Sunday 3rd June 2012.

The victim suffered serious facial injuries.

A second man, aged 24 from Swanage, received lacerations and cuts to his face and an injury to one of his eyes from flying glass.

Both were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Detective Constable Steve Brown, of County CID, said:

"Both men are recovering well, but these injuries are likely to live with them for the rest of their lives.

"It appears that both men have been lucky not to lose their sight, however permanent damage is still a possibility that cannot be ruled out.

"I would like anyone who was there and can recall what happened to get in touch with Dorset Police".

Two men aged 26, and one aged 28, all from Swanage, have been arrested and released on bail while enquiries continue.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101.
