Man in hand-made boat rescued

Coastguards have had to rescue a man in a home-made boat found floating off the Dorset coast

The sailor managed to reach 250 metres off the coast of Charmouth Beach yesterday afternoon but was rescued after a 999 call was made by a member of the public who spotted him trying to float.

Coastguards have issued a warning to others not to try anything similar as they say it can be very dangerous
