Man Jailed For Sandbanks Crash

A 34 year old who ran over and killed a husband and wife as they walked home in Sandbanks, Poole last year, has been given 7 years in prison.

On Friday 12th August Jonathan Knowles - who's from London - pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and omne of GHB when he appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court.

53 year old Alan Bernard and his 51 year old wife Rochelle, were killed on September 11th 2010 as they made their way back to their holiday home in the area. They had just left their daughter following a family meal at Cafe Shore earlier that night.

A female friend walking home with them at the time was also injured.

A court spokesperson confirmed:

"Mr. Knowles is facing imprisonment - 7 years for both counts of death by dangerous driving and 2 years for the GBH charge."
