Man On Crutches Attacked In Poole

Police are investigating after a man on crutches was attacked by two men in Poole.

A 35-year-old Poole man was attacked at approximately 6.15pm on Saturday 11 October, in Wimborne Road near to the Co-Op store.
 
The victim – who is suffering from a fractured foot and walking with the aid of crutches – was sitting on a bench near to the store when he was attacked by two men.
 
One offender punched the victim while the other attacker struck the victim over the head with his crutch.
 
Both offenders are described as being white, aged in their early 30s and of medium build.
 
One is described as having brown hair and the other has short dark hair. One was said to be wearing a red top.
 
The victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
 
Police Constable Jason Pope, of Poole police, said:

“This was an unprovoked and cowardly attack on a vulnerable man.
 
“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any details about the men responsible. Anyone with information that may assist my investigation should contact Dorset Police.”
